How do you place veneers?
Veneers are generally completed in two visits. During the first visit, a small amount of natural tooth enamel is removed. Today’s veneers are super-thin. So, only the most minimal enamel is lifted from the tooth. This feature also helps minimize the discomfort or sensitivity associated with removing or altering this natural covering. With the tooth prepared, Dr. Westmoreland can then collect information about it, which is used to make permanent veneers that fit correctly and look natural. After the veneers have been made, you return to the office for a second time. If all looks and feels great, he secures the veneer to the tooth.
How do I care for my veneers?
Like natural teeth – for the most part. We strive to get ahead of any potential problems with your veneers. For instance, we can provide a custom-fit nightguard to protect your dental work from damage caused by teeth grinding or bruxism. In fact, bruxism may be why your teeth became chipped or otherwise damaged and then required veneers in the first place!
